2018 Lexus LS Interior, Exterior

2018 Lexus LS Interior, Exterior
Almost all Japanese brands have their luxury divisions, Honda, Nissan, Toyota, etc. Probably the best-known is Lexus. Lexus is a division of Toyota located in Nagoya. It was founded 27 years ago and since then it has become a synonym for a luxury car. Initially, they wanted to develop a world’s best car and they came up with the project code-named Flagship One. Actually, the F1 project developed the LS 400. 27 years later Lexus announced the future model that is going to be released in the following years – 2018 Lexus LS.

LF-FC CONCEPT

The next LS will be based on the LF-FC Concept. This concept was initially presented at 2015 Tokyo Motor Show and LS has been using this concept since then. It is primarily focused on the interior while the exterior was only slightly modified comparing to the previous concept. There are still many details to be announced regarding this model. However, considering that we know which concept is going to use it allows us to make some predictions and estimations. This is what we came up with.

"first assumptions, it might be cheaper than the competence. Some expert even says it is going to cost around $50,000."

See how generous Toyota is compared to the "competence". They are basically going to give them away. And a whole 300hp! Truly Amazing. (<--- sarcasm)

After 10 years of selling the same car they better make this next one decent. Also I'm not really convinced about no wood trim in this category. It's fine on the LC but I don't think that it's going to work for an LS.

If the LF-FC is translated faithfully into production as they did with the LC, Lexus will--for the first time in its history--will have a brand presence.

If they can be the brand that shows a striking concept and then brings it faithfully to production that will be a claim to fame.

I honestly do not see them dropping the base price $20K. I could see them NOT increasing the price however, but putting more content in.

The video was interesting because the "white" prototype does not look exactly like the "black" LS prototype that's been seen. The one in the video looked a lot like the current LS i.e. not very daring stylistically.

As for the engine noise, it definitely sounds like a supercharger.

As a second tier premium - comparable to Volvo,Buick, Infiniti - etc - but not to BMW or MB - the Lexus cars are overpriced when compared to the competition from Buick. (So is Infiniti and Audi)

And they are about the only cars on the road that make you reminisce about an AMC Pacer or Pontiac Aztec.

TomM Firstly they aren't overpriced. If they were they wouldn't sell so well for so many years.

Secondly just because you didn't grow up with a brand doesn't mean that it can't compete with the older ones. What matters is the actual car; heritage is of secondary importance. If BMW can get away with the majority of sales being 3/4 series and still be "1st tier" then other brands who do the same can't be put down for that same reason. Mercedes is the only one that has sales spread evenly across its offerings.

LS looks like it gains about 500 pounds of lard and it is about to bust!

Sorry but not for me why pay more for a Toyoya, and no comment about the design language make no sense to me , I keep BMW and Mercedes for my first option as always.

had the last gen LS, it was pretty crappy... had some cabin seal issues.
Owned a 96 LS and that was one of the best LS Lexus made but since then the LS has been unappealing and not as reliable.

Hopefully they come up with something good or else I'm sticking with my unreliable A8 and pretty much perfect S500.

btw pepi, bwm is pure junk, dont even mention it in the same sentence as the other brands. I owned a couple them before and I spoke with dealer mechanics.
They were frank to tell me that even they would not touch a bmw.

This will certainly be interesting to see how this plays out. None of Lexus' products with "more daring" styling are faring well against their direct competitors, even with new engine variants offered. The IS is being slaughtered by the 3 and C. The RC isn't selling half the volume of the 4 Series. The GS is losing the race with the very old E-Class and 5 Series, can just imagine what is going to happen with the new E. The RX is doing well, but isn't increasing. The NX is more competitive, but still isn't overcoming the strongest players in its segment, the RDX and Q5.

So, Lexus may stay pretty true to the concept, but will it really resonate with Lexus buyers? Is this what the luxury segment is about - trendy styling? To me, the designs are nice and flashy at introduction, then they just don't age very gracefully.
