Because Faster Is Better - BMW Ups 1 Series And 2 Series To 335 HP

Small, fast BMWs are no new concept, and so BMW has updated the 1 Series and 2 Series with six-cylinder engines and greater equipment levels to create the M140i and M240i. These replace the older M135i and M235i performance models.

A new 3.0-litre straight-six powers all three cars (hatch, coupe and convertible), producing 335bhp and 500Nm of torque. That’s an increase of 14bhp and 50Nm over the previous 135i models, which means it’s 0.3 seconds faster from 0-62mph: the M140i and M240i take just 4.6 seconds, with the M240i Convertible taking 4.7 seconds.

There's just something really ugly about the 1 and 2 series. Not that they aren't awesome cars ... but the visual proportions are off. Only my opinion.

I agree! I almost got a 2er here in the states but I can't get behind the looks... The interior isn't that special either...
