Tuner 9ff Creates a 912hp Carrera GT

Famous Porsche tuner 9ff has created a performance package for the already highly-strung Carrera GT. Their new kit increases the power output of the regular car by an amazing 300hp up to 912hp. To achieve this result, the 9ff engineers added two large turbos, new camshafts and less restrictive exhaust manifolds. The exhaust is then sent through the custom free-flowing exhaust system, which includes a unique 9ff muffler with valve system and end-pipes plus a new cat-converter.

In addition to the exhaust system, 9ff added a totally revised induction system with modified air filter and cold-air intake. Finally, to make sure the engine can run with all the changes, the ECU required an upgrade. 9ff doesn’t stop there; the tuner offers an entire catalogue of options including visual and aerodynamic upgrades as well as all the engine mods. If only we had the cash.

If you only had the cash, the gas truck to follow you around so you wouldn't have to find a gas station every 50 miles.

Oh, and a truck with tires for the million times you'll just have to "let the hammer drop.".

(I am asking this because I don't know) Can you even use all that horsepower on a public road. For example, if you peel out - pedal to the metal - aren't your tires shredded???

Yes you can if you drive out in the mid-west/Nevada area - the land of straight and very long roads. Or actually any very long road that doesn't have many "obstacles" to tend with, i.e...other cars.

When the Bugatti Veyron came out, there were a few tests that got the car up to it's max...but at some point you are either going to run out of road or gas.

And as for the tires…you can't just hammer down a car like that and expect to be at 900+ bhp in a matter of seconds. You have to work the engine up to it and really "warm" it up. Normally this would consist of a handful of laps around the loop to get the tires warm and the engine ready. 900+ bhp is a lot of heat and a lot of energy.

Like Mark said, Big deal. How many arent there with 900- 1000hp? Its just no surprise. And anyways it wouldnt help for much since its a gas drainer. I figure that just for touching the gas pedal u lose like 25cents or so? Whats it good 4 then?

If you're concerned about gas price/mileage then you can't afford this car anyway. It makes me laugh everytime you guys mention fuel economy when talking about a super car.
