My understanding is that VW sales in South Korea are measured in the mid "tens of thousands" annually, hardly something that will "cripple" VW. By comparison, the Dieselgate recall affects over 11,000,000 VW diesels in Europe, or about 125,000 VW diesels in South Korea (about 1% of the European market).

In other words, although this news is a bitter pill for VW, it affects a miniscule portion of their annual sales. Definitely not enough to "cripple" them.

So what is that, like 10,000 extra sales for KIA/Hyundai? I'd love to see Germany retaliate but banning Korean crap from the EU.

I noticed that there's a big stink about Mitsubishi overstating mpg but when the Koreans did it, there was barely a blip in the media. Guess that's the reward for giving us hillbillies cheap cars because we love cheap.

WV or Germany must ban those Korean low quality cars from their country too , all they know is copy and paste German design and technology and also hire designers fired previously by Audi and BMW to try to make something better. Just watch 5 years before all the embarrassing crap they make without hire a German designer , now is not so different they just copy and mix angles and design from Mercedes , BMW and Audi , the good thing is that they never can copy or buy identity.
