Volkswagen Reports September Sales Down 7.2%

If you own a VW, then you're not surprised their sales are down. The VW-experience is not great. The cars look pretty good but you take on a lot of hassle. And the designs... they're not getting better really. Why can't VW make their cars look like Audis, and make Audis look like Bugattis? It would really help VAG!

The Eos is selling well, without any advertising whatsoever. Jetta sales are down, but cheaper price will boost them soon as the 07 come in. Passat stays about the same as the new model is only down about 2 percent, Rabbit/GTI sales are way up combined, very good, especially since most dealers had very few Rabbits.

How many millions of Toyotas were recalled this year? IIRC it was several millions.

Recalls are different from the problem that persists in model lines where you have to take them in often to the shop for this and for that - no recall involved, ie VW. It is different in that in a recall, the manufacturer spots the problem fixes it no charge, and then it is back yours a perfect car (Toyota). No recalls are better than either situation. OK, so in that millions though, to be honest, are cars sitting on the lots - sold and unsold - and all other unsold cars included in that number, or is it just sold cars?

Either way, Toyotas have much better quality than VWs. Get real, Chewy. You live life on the edge to protect your VW/Audi badge? Is there anything else in your life you have passion for other than some other guy's company?

There's a massive difference between percieved quality, and reliability. VWs may not be the most reliable, but their interiors are flawless and they have nary a shake or rattle.

Have you ever sat in a fully-loaded Passat? That interior would fit in a mid-level luxury sedan such as the 5 Series or GS (but the A6 is nicer)! In fact, it's more luxurious and quicker than a 530i (the Passat 3.6)!

But no one will dare say that Toyota's generally are unreliable. And if someone does say that they are simply speaking out hate <:)-<.
