The Ford Shelby GT500 Mustang is under development and will be sold in limited numbers, if these spy pictures and new inside information are anything to go by.

Photographed testing outside Ford’s Dearborn Development Grounds in Michigan, USA, the high-performance coupé will get aggressive, aerodynamically-tuned bodywork, including a fixed rear wing and prominent front splitter.

The first run of 250 TVR cars are already sold out. THey are using a Cosworth tuned version of this engine in the 500 hp range - and that should be plenty of power to overcome the rest of the go-cart.

They are NOT using a Cosworth tuned version of the Voodoo V8. They are using the Coyote as their base. TVR also has more than 250 orders. The 250 number reflects the fact that the first year will be a partial year and the fact that they are attending to quality.

Cosworth's "tuning" was largely focused in designing headers and re-chipping it with a Ford Performance chip.

The Voodoo V8 of the GT350 wasn't ready in time for TVR to use it. All indications are that the new TVR will be called Griffith, but they have a plan for 4 models and reviving the Sagaris name is being bandied about as has a figure of 750+ horsepower. The GT500's engine would be an easy bolt in.
