This is due to Mercedes-Benz's strong product portfolio from top to bottom. The S-Class design that was used for the C-Class and new E-Class has provided huge benefits for Mercedes-Benz as buyers feel they are getting S-Class level of luxury in different sized packages. T

he new Mercedes-Benz interiors are really great and on par with Audi in terms of quality. Mercedes-Benz has gone the old-school luxury route while Audi has gone the modern, clean and sleek look, but both brands have interiors that are miles ahead of BMW's.

The redesigned C class is pretty amazing - definitely the standard for its class. From the outside, the 3 series and A4 simply do not compare. Interior, C class blows away BMW and I've yet to see the new A4 interior, but I doubt it will be more luxurious (maybe more tech).

More than likely Toyota will at some point be so intertwined with BMW that BMW will in effect have been absorbed. A BMW/Toyota merger makes tremendous sense for both companies on so many levels.
