Bet You Don't Know Who Is The Hottest Car Company In The US Is Right Now?

The memo that the U.S. car market is finally slowing down apparently didn’t make it to Coventry, England. From its U.K. headquarters, Tata Motors’ Jaguar brand has rocketed to the front of an increasingly listless crowd of vehicles in America.

In the first seven months of this year, Jaguar sales surged 59 percent, handily outpacing every other brand on the road. Volvo was a distant second, with a 29 percent increase in cars sold. Most of Jaguar’s luxury rivals including Acura, BMW, Cadillac, Lexus and Mercedes have reported dips in sales for the year to date.

The article title is misleading. Wow, the are up from 15,000 units last year on the strength of launching their two least expensive models. They are a niche player and appear to remain such.

Bingo. The title should have read "Jaguar Sales Up, But How Will They Catch Up To Genesis?"

The Genesis nee G80 was outselling the entire Jaguar line by about 2:1.

Actually - it is TVR that is leading the world in increase in sales -
They sold 250 cars in the last year - and NONE in the year before that.So the increase in Infinity. Of course - they have not yet MADE a car - but that is semantics.

I think Jaguar will continue to pick up steam. The new XE is a really nice car from what I have seen and read (still need to drive one), the F-Pace is getting a lot of positive press...yea I think if they keep up the investment and keep quality good which seems to be vastly improved the last couple of years, they will do quite well.
