Honda Reveals The 2017 5 Door Civic Hatchback - Will It Sway Buyers From a Crossover?

The Japanese automaker has finally introduced the five-door hatchback version of the eponymous Civic compact, and for the first time ever the body style will also become available in the United States.

The new generation Honda Civic is delivering the official take on the five-door hatchback version, with the model reaching its global ambitions by also heading towards the US market.

To answer that actual Question - the answer is NO. The Civic may be many things but it does not fulfill the requirement to be a Crossover. For a lot of buyers - there is something about the "look" of a crossover - even if it does not have 4x4 - that cannot be duplicated by a car.. And that is the Style that is "In" today. AS we have seen in the past - this will come and go - as have station wagons - and mini-vans - and lots of others.

I suppose if the raised it a few inches and put trail tires on it - it might actually look like a crossover - and it would sell better.

Still, The Civic is still a good small car. And eventually the car will return - when oil goes back up in price. ANd it will happen - although maybe not as quickly as some think.

The oil crisis is just Democrat BS. Oil is NOT scarce. We just need to nuke and kill the zealots that cash rape us and be OK with it.
