Bugatti Has Already Sold The First 200 Chirons With Some Buyers Getting More Than One

At least 200 people will wake up to a new Bugatti Chiron in the driveway in the next few months. That’s how many orders Bugatti has taken worldwide through this week, the company announced when revealing a “near production” example at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering in California.

That event marks the North American unveiling of a car Bugatti already displayed at the Geneva auto show earlier this year and then at every venue where the monied elite gather in sufficient numbers. Of course, the reported “sales” of these ultraexotics can and do vary. Some buyers may have ordered more than one car, while several may back out after putting down their 200,000-Euro deposits ($226,000) because of a divorce or a court order, or simply because a Ford GT may arrive sooner. You never know. At least, we’ll never know, because we’re not on that list.

I would rather have the Hyundai pickup that I just dissed in the other article.

The Chrion strikes me as a very odd looking supercar - like its trying a bit too hard. I know this one will outperform the Veyron but the Veyron looked like it was barely containing all the hardware underneath.

The Chiron just looks a little strange - the "nostril" out front is inappropriate for a supercar, the dramatic side scoops are "interesting" but you'd think they would mess up the aerodynamics, and the interior is on the one hand out of this world beautiful but on the other hand why put that "scoop" in the middle.

Perhaps its not ever meant to be driven? It seems pretentious to me.

And ironically at the same time not trying hard enough. It's a very tame design. The scoop in the interior is asinine. The Veyron was as ugly as a dog turd and this one looks better but it's somehow too Mitsubishi Eclipse looking i.e. if Mitsubishi were doing an Eclipse these days and dumbed down a Veyron....

Those buying more than one must have extremely small penises.
