SKETCHED OUT! Kia Continues To Drop The Heat — All-New Rio May Have You Second Guessing The Fit, Fiesta And Versa
In the world of super small economy cars, the Korean automakers run the game. That’s because their products tend to have the lowest barrier of entry with an aggressive pricing strategy.

When I recently was on vacation in Saint Maarten, 80 percent of the island’s vehicles were either Hyundais and Kias. With exception of the occasional BMW X6, Audi TT or Porsche Boxster, it felt like a Korean automaker’s commercial.

The good news is that their products have come around in a big way. I feel like I’ve said this 1,000 times but it bears repeating: Hyundai and Kia make some killer vehicles these days. And it looks like the company will be beating that same drum when the all-new Rio debuts at the Paris Motor Show this October.

Although Kia has not released official studio pictures or any details, it has elected to share design sketches of the all-new car.

The European exterior design trend is as prevalent as ever and the interior continues that theme as well.

That said, we’re curious: Would this design sway you from making a move on its direct competitors, e.g., the Ford Fiesta, Honda Fit and Nissan Versa? What say you, Spies?

The segment the Rio is in sells on price and that will continue to be the deciding factor for most buyers.

Kia has a good chance to become what VW should have been in the U.S.

Kia suddenly has become both dependable and hip, impressive to say the least. Most car companies go for one or the other. Kia's use of real car designers from outside the company is a lesson for Honda and Nissan.

@carsnyc - That's a very good way of describing the situation.
