California Carbon Emissions Law May Run Auto Industry Out Of State
California is poised to make the nation’s strictest carbon emission controls even tougher, with a bill to cut greenhouse-gas discharges to 40 percent less than 1990 levels by 2030 now headed to Gov. Jerry Brown.

The state Senate gave final approval 25-13 on Wednesday, following a 42-29 vote in the Assembly Tuesday. Brown, a Democrat in his fourth term leading the most-populous state, said he intends to sign the measure. It is paired with a separate bill tightening legislative oversight of the California Air Resources Board approved Tuesday.

Run the auto industry out of state? There is no real auto industry in the state of California unless you count Mexico as part of CA. Yes, they have their executive offices and design studios here, but this law is not going to run them out of state.

So no, this law will NOT run the auto industry out of state.

Indeed. Could the Democrat supermajority screw the state over any more? Just when you think they can't they do.

California giving away free money to Tesla in the form of ZEV credits shows that Tesla is destined to fail. W/O ZEV Tesla was burn through money even faster.

What happens when all automakers provide BEV vehicles? California goes bankrupt handing out ZEVs or Tesla goes under because the welfare payments stop coming?

I am rooting for Tesla to succeed. I don't understand why you won't want to. My next car will be a Tesla.
