MUST READ! You Won't Believe What Discounts Some Dealers Are Giving On Premium Cars Like Corvettes?
These sure are crazy times in the car biz. But if you're in market right now for a new ride, this may be the most unreal time to pick up something cool for a RIDICULOUS price.

And let us tell you there are some REALLY insane deals out there. ESPECIALLY, on stuff you wouldn't normally see at fire sale prices.

Case in point.

This advertisement from Hendrick Chevrolet for a NEW, leftover 2016 Corvette.

Remember all the lists and dealers asking OVER sticker for these?

For the longest time, Corvette's could never be had for any significant discount.

Not any more.

Can you say $20,000 discount for a leftover 16?

Yes there is a rebate you have to qualify for (Corvette Loyalty 2k) and they have a 2500 trade allowance in there but STILL. Even without those, it's still over $15k off.

And our Spies there tell us they are SO desperate to move them that you may get those other discounts if you're ready to drive one home today.

And it's NOT just limited to Corvettes. Many other premium rides are being advertised with all time high discounts.

So our question today is WHY are so many huge incentives required to move these cars today?

And what other deals like this are you all seeing out on the streets in your areas?

Spies, discuss!

Now if there are also discounts on gold chains and toupées, buyers will be good to go!

GM's fire sale is indeed interesting across the board.

Local Hyundai, Kia, and Lincoln Dealers have also had some really big discounts and I note that even FCA has a $3000 rebate on the New Pacifica right now. THey have been having been summer sell-downs for decades - the "leftover" or near leftover cars were always heavily discounted and IT is hard to name a company that did not discount the older cars when the new one to replace it was already shown and announced. GM has currently replaced a lot of their lines with new cars - example - the new 2017 LaCrosse - making the older LaCrosse a prime example for discounts. ANd since most of these models have already paid back their development costs - they actually have more "space" to work with. Obviously -= they could simply stop production on the older cars BUT - better to make some money on the cars you make - than make NO money on the cars you don't.

Yes summer sell downs have always existed, but GM is doing money on top of money and that is a new wrinkle.

Went Cadillac shopping with my dad (72 yrs young) today. As a walk-in and after a test drive, there was $4,000 GM incentive on new 2016 XTS and the dealer threw in a $4,000 discount on top of that on $55,000 list vehicle. $8,000 off list without us doing anything.

That's before even negotiating at all. They tried to close the deal "today" as the post above says. The sales manager told us he could certainly "sharpen his pencil" a little more.

GM is fronting a LOT of money, but if the dealer also hits a sales target, GM throws in more cash. If a dealer has the financial elasticity to pull it off they can offer the 2nd bonus up front, which I suspect may be what's happening here. The "sharpen his pencil more" indicates that all the money is not yet on the hood.

I also think this is a terrible move for GM--and potentially the industry--because it creates the expectation of a big summer sell down and some people will wait for it rather than buying a car during the year.

The large Corvette dealers offer these kind of discounts all the time - that's how they move so many Corvettes
