While it's not too too hard to come across great exterior spy shots, it is a bit troublesome to run across excellent interior snaps. That's because the cabins of research and development cars are typically cloaked top-to-bottom.

Every once and a while though there's a photographer there at the right time and magic happens.

Just look at that cheap BMW interior in the picture above. The plastic is everywhere and it appears BMW didn't get the memo that Mercedes-Benz and Audi have interiors that look and feel much more luxurious than its own interiors.

If BMW's future interiors look anything like what is shown above, BMW will continue to fall behind.

Buyers today who pay luxury prices want interiors that reflect those prices. They don't want to pay $50K for a car and sit in an interior that feels like it's from a $20K car.
