SPIED: MORE All-New Snaps Of The Next-Gen Land Rover Discovery — Trading Up Your GLE, X5, Cayenne, Q7 For THIS?
For what feels like forever now we've been keeping an eye on the all-new Land Rover Discovery. There's a good reason for this. That's because Land Rover has been killing it in terms of sales.

People cannot get enough of the things! In addition, the luxury sport-utility vehicle segment continues to grow.

Buyers want more space and more accoutrements all in a sharp package. Land Rover has a certain cachet that Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz just don't quite have. And we think the all-new Discovery may just be what people have been waiting for.

There's a lot of Cayennes, X5s, Q7s and GLEs on the road. And if you've owned one or two, you're likely looking for something new.

We've spied the all-new Discovery a few times now and it seems like we're nearing its debut. Perhaps Paris?

I'm ambivalent The LRRR range is good looking but the stylistic standstill makes then as predictable as Audi or BMW.

I can see your point! I still see two styling lines, the Land Rovers (Discovery Sport and the Discovery) and the Range Rovers (RR, RR Sport, Evoque) which probably share too much through the front/rear design. I thought the Evoque set a nice styling/market direction for the RR line of competing with Audi/BMW/Merc but trying to be a bit more upscale with some modicum of off road capabilities. I was hoping the Discovery Sport and Discovery would set a new direction for that line as well that emphasized further the ruggedness and off road capabilities of the line while offering some luxury. In some ways keeping in closer touch with the previous Discovery and maybe folding in the Defender. Now it seems like both lines are attempting to grab the kind of generic middle of the market and they will simply become another X3/Q5/GLE.

You are correct in the sense that RR is staying ultra luxury and LR is aiming for premium luxury. Land Rover has stated the Defender name will become a third series with many different models with the truck-like ruggedness this new Discovery is missing. I for one do not like the new Land Rover designs because they completely ditch the functional practicality of older Land Rover designs for style. When I think of Land Rover the iconic design is the Defender and the original Discovery / Discovery 2.

Very bland. You could see the LR4 / Discovery doing a Camel Trophy race across the world. This says shopping mall a little too loudly. A big departure from the last model. Where the new RR is an evolutionary change, this is a completely unrelated model. Much like the new NSX is.
