...The model has been created to celebrate the passing of 80 years since the first Supermarine Spitfire World War 2 fighter took to the sky.

Sold exclusively at Jardine Motors Group Aston Martin Cambridge and created by the car maker’s Q personalisation service, just eight examples of the Spitfire model will be built at a price of £180,000 each.

To signify the 80th anniversary of Britain’s most iconic warplane, every Vantage S Spitfire 80 will feature components made by the Aircraft Restoration Company at Duxford. These include tailpipe tips finished in a rainbow ‘bloom’ effect to match the Spitfire’s exhausts and an aluminium bar in the cabin that’s inspired by the Spitfire’s rear strut brace...

Can't really see much of the car in the video... Should have done it on a DB9 when they had the chance. It is the more svelte design of the two cars. More in keeping with the lean lines of the Spitfire.

Great idea, hopefully when we see the finished project it pays due homage to an incredible airplane! Love the sound of the Spitfire, now who will create a homage to the P-47 with that honking radial, or better yet to the B-17 with four radial engines :)
