New Maserati Levante to top the luxury SUV segment!
The new Levante won’t lack any luxuriousness we’ve accustomed to see in a Maserati model and, of course, we will see some pretty powerful engines under the hood of this luxury SUV. Starting at $72k for the base Levante, equipped with a V6, the price tag is quite decent, especially given the performance and the famous trident sign that has been around for quite some time.

Maybe I have rose colored glasses on, but I can't wait for one of these bad boys to hit the used market.

idk...i been seeing new Maseratis lately, but I just don't see/hear people clamoring about the brand. Not like Porsche, M-B, BMW, etc. It'll definitely be some kind of a novelty initially. I'm just not "sold" on the exterior despite the purported luxury/performance it will have.

WE have a Maserati dealer in the area - he also is the big Mercedes/Jaguar/Porsche/Lexus/Infiniti/Rover dealer with HUGE dealerships. SO I see quite a few Maseratis around the area - especially in certain "rich" areas. THey pull off the intended "Exotic" class looks as far as I can see. However - this dealer also charges big numbers for off lease and plain used vehicles so I don't know how they really hold their value - probably not well.

I would not buy a true exotic after the third year unless I was planning to garage it as a statue. THe cost or repairs gets really pricey.

This and the Alfa SUV will eat into RR and Porsche SUV sales. Anyone buying those are not Consumer Reports buyers who obsess over reliability and will primarily buy Toyota's. These consumers are looking for style, handling, something a bit unique and will accept that little decrease in reliability (but typically great dealer support) in order to have those qualities.

This is the ugliest Infiniti SUV I've seen in a while.

...maybe b/c it's FCA...& I'm subconciously expecting a Maser SUV with Grd Cherokee Hemi performance...maybe that's why I can't really get excited about the Levante. Especially since it's taken soooo long! So my expectations where very high about exterior. Hopefully it performs well & fits the driver like an Italian leather glove.

An uphill battle for sales. That's for sure. If it's built well and it has good dealer servicing it has a chance. However I do predict potentially heavy discount pricing.......

Because FCA was/is so desperate for Maserati sales, they have let some dubious dealers spring up. The local Maserati dealer is inside an abandoned Hummer dealer with nothing but the signage changed. The salesmen smell of cigarettes and are constantly tugging at their crotches. It is definitely NOT a premium experience.

The upside is that the salesmen will give you all the happy endings you want to make the sale.#smarmy
