Grand Cherokee boasting SRT engine has been spied!
It will be a 3.6-liter turbocharged flex-fuel engine, capable of outputting 290 horsepower, at 6400 rpm, with a maximum torque output of 260 pounds-feet, at 4800 rpm. The engine will have six cylinders positioned in V configuration, with 24 valves. The engine will also have a variable valve timing technology that will vastly improve the fuel consumption, that is desperately needed in such powerful engines. The engine will be paired to an eight-speed shiftable automatic transmission system, with a rear wheel drive configuration.

Wow for a moment there I was thinking 290hp SRT model??? Is this the 1980s? Anyways 707hp should make my Home Depot runs sufficiently quicker that my weekend projects are completed at least 10min sooner.

Despite the GC exterior being fairly old. You gotta admit that it still looks good. When a design is this good, you have to just "let it ride" until you can't use it or sell it anymore. The Chrysler 300/Charger got a little old (visually) much faster - probably b/c their competitors have gone through a number of changes in as many years.
