What? Unemployed MLB Player Drops $3.5 Million On New Lykan HyperSport

When it comes to athletes known for dropping outrageous sums of money on outrageous supercars, the usual names are Floyd Mayweather or Yoenis Cespedes. Which is why it’s a little shocking that Hector Olivera, a Major League Baseball outfielder who is currently a free agent after being released by the San Diego Padres months after an arrest for assault and battery, just shelled out $3.5 million for a Lykan HyperSport.

The 31-year-old Cuban-born Olivera was originally signed to the Los Angeles Dodgers with a $62.5 million contract, but his underwhelming performance led to his being bounced to the Atlanta Braves, who also declined to re-sign him.
