LEAKED? Pricing For The All-New Genesis G90 Gets EXPOSED — Is This Enough To ENTICE You?
The all-new Hyundai Genesis G90 is a full-size luxury sedan that is aiming to go up against the likes of the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series, Cadillac CT6, Jaguar XJ, Lexus LS and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. Much like the Equus that came before it, it's playing in a market that many believe a Hyundai product should live.

People said the same thing about the Lexus LS when it first debuted and look how it disrupted the luxury car market.

Although the pricing has yet to be officially confirmed via Hyundai's North American team, some documentation has leaked out onto the 'net. We're thinking it's pretty legit at the moment. If we were betting men, and we are, we'd guess this is documentation that leaked out at the dealer level.

That said, below is the expected pricing for the all-new G90.

We'll get two flavors, the Premium and the Ultimate. The main differentiator will be the choice in engine and we're assuming the level of trimming.

So, with a base price of $68,100 for the Premium, is THIS going to catch your eye? Would you consider the G90 over the likes of the A8, 7-Series, CT6, XJ, LS and S-Class?

Should start at about $5,000 lower. I understand the G90 has standard equipment that are options with other brands, but the price might turn some people off that are more brand conscious. Might be better off offering less standard equipment and reduce the base price.

Fact: Dealers will be coming off list rather easily because Hyundai's strategy is like Lexus' start up: buy volume even if at a loss.

The pricing is very well chosen. You're getting an "S Class" for the price of an "E Class" at the asking price and the selling price will be moreso.

This should easily sell at double the rate of the Equus, which met it's sales goals.

People will sneer and scoff, but Genesis is the smart buy in the premium segment. Their products will be a tremendous value for the price. The Genesis (nee G80) and the Equus are not even remotely frequent flyers to the service department and are reliable.

Lincoln (with the Continental) and Genesis are smartly banking on value for the money and that will appeal to people who are not badge snobs.

Maybe add $100,000k to sticker....to show its premium! there is a sucker born every second that buy audi and bmw...just because they want to tell everyone they can afford a $150k POS from Germany!

Hyundai couldn't give away the Equus at $62k starting, not sure how they'd do with a starting price at almost $70k. From the reviews I've seen, the car drives very luxuriously, but nothing exciting or memorable. The interior is handsome, but not special. The exterior, just forget it. When I think of spending $80k (after options), I'd better be getting something pretty darn special and I'm not so sure this G90 is offering that experience.

You wouldn't buy one, much less ever take a test drive, so pipe down.

In other words, Myeong, I am right once again. If I wanted to fall asleep at the wheel or just by looking at my car, yes, I'd buy one.

In other words Herr Cidflekken, you're too much of a nose uppity, anti-Korean bigot to consider that Asians can design cars that equal what your fat, white-boy, Germans put out.

LOL. Myeong Darringer. First of all, there aren't "Koreans" designing and engineering Hyundai/Kia/Genesis cars anymore. So your argument there is false (as always). In fact, the very people designing and engineering your favorite cars are the very people you despise and have an inner insecurity about that therapists are wagging their tongues at your troubles. Donckerwolke and Schreyer sure as hell don't sound very Asian to me. Yes, Lee is a Korean-born designer, but worked for GM and VW for years and studied in California.

The V8 is probably priced fine. The V6 seems priced too close to it and also too high. It doesn't seem like enough of a price difference (only $1,600?) for both higher trim level plus entirely different engine. V6 should start in the LOW 50s, it is too high--- but Genesis will probably just leave the sticker where it is and subvent the leases to qualified customers so their monthly payments end up comparable to a $55k car anyway. Also, the Cadillac CT6 starts at ~$55k.

Just like VW's Phaeton, very nice cars but unable to compete directly with the major players in this class. Overseas it will sell well but no so sure here in the US.

You do realize that before Hyundai wound down the Equus in anticipation of the G90 that sales weren't that far off from the Jaguar XJ, right?

I have not seen too many Genesis cars running about my area. I still love it when I see a long wheelbase XJ Supercharged on the road. A very slick design.

Hyundai and Kia vehicles are still sold at substantial discounts from their list price - and I expect that $10-20,000 discounts would not be out of the question.

I still have no reason to buy a third tier luxury sedan - from a Korean Manufacturer. At least one major reason to buy such a car is the "prestige" of owning a high end vehicle. Korean cars offer none - if not negative prestige. I don't see Genesis doing any better than the cars did under Hyundai. Today - there are many more players in the real prestige Luxury premium - and second tier premium markets than there were when Lexus and Infiniti first came out. Add in some near exotics - and Hyundai has little of the market to itself.

@TomM You're talking out of your ass yet again. Hyundai/Kia vehicles are NOT discounted any more than their comparable rivals at Toyota, Honda, Ford, or Chevy.

You're clearly a bigot who cannot imagine Koreans ever equaling the Germans even if the rest of us know that in some very important ways they already have.

id rather have a maserati ghibli which is also discounted like 10k less than their msrp. unless this car tops out at like 55k fully loaded, i dont know why anyone would get one. there is ZERO prestige or bragging rights when you buy this CRAP !
ill take a beautiful volvo s90/ Cadillac any day over this if my goal was trying to be different.

A8, 750, XJL, LS460 , Quattroporte have a hard time competiting with the KING which is the S class, this car is not even close to those.
if i was a Cab driver- yes id take the g90 over a lincoln town car but thats about it.

You CAN most decidedly get a Ghibli for money off list, but if you say $10K off list, the dealer will shake your hand and a say "deal!" because $20K off is not unheard of. They cannot give the Ghibli away.

Word has gotten out about it being for all intents and purposes a Chrysler 300 and strangely enough the reliability has degraded over time. Usually, the initial cars have some issues that get ironed out, but not the Ghibli.

The bragging rights to the G90 would be that you have identified a bona fide premium car (which it most decidedly is) and that you are not a badge snob.

I lived with a Kia K900 for a few months as my company car and the difference between it and the Germans was nowhere near what the Gestapo boys on this site will claim it is.

The G90 will be--most likely--dead reliable and cheap to keep. It will be more cushy than track ready. In person, it's quite attractive to the point that if Marc Lichte put it out as the new direction of Audi, the Gestapo boys would be firing up the furnaces to burn the undesirables.

Enter Genesis...

They came to play. Undercut their target competition...maybe even loosing a few dollars. To get consumers in the car & driving them around. Kinda sounds familiar...basically how Lexus got major recognition in the late 90s.
