Tesla Model 3 – Robert Cumberford applauded to the design of the Tesla
Robert Cumberford applauded to the design of the Tesla Model 3. He is one of the best-known car critics and writers in this industry. So, here’s the newest review created by him. The column about Tesla Model 3, by one of the most renowned car designer critics Robert Cumberford, appeared in the Automobile Magazine this week. He had a distinguished career in the car industry, and now writing critiques is what he is best at.

Car aficionados must remember some of his finest passages like “the Jaguar E-Type is elegant, extremely phallic and a great middle-aged man’s compensation…the ultimate automotive expression of phylliform perfection”.

Although he wasn’t in favor of the “nosecone” he claimed that the car design is magnificent.

As Robert Cumberford stated:”There is a lot of equality carefully considered and beautifully executed sculpting ahead of the front-wheel centerline. An obtrusive little crease in the front fascia skin just below the headlamp openings gives some direction to the plain surface, with more thrust provided by the headlamp covers ending in a point inboard and forward.”

But in the next article, you might see one of the best reviews about Tesla cars, ever...

If Mr. Cumberford is indeed one of the "best known" car critics and writers in the industry - you would not have had to actually say that. i wonder how he managed to actually review the car - when production on the car has not only not started - but it way into the future. Tesla has already announced that they will be looking to go back to the stock market for more money (THey spent the last stuff on buying a solar company) - which will only dilute the stock further. And the longer it takes - the more competition there will be.

I continue to believe that by the time Tesla actually produces low end priced Model 3s - there will be competition from at least two other big names. ANd of course - GM will be there first too.

The competition looks pretty weak so far. I can't imagine many people choosing a Bolt over a Model 3 if the prices are similar. Tesla has a significant edge with performance, looks, autopilot, charging infrastructure, infotainment, sales process, and brand prestige. If there is a realistic competitor it hasn't been announced yet. Maybe the next Leaf?

What a fanboy article. It looks like a Chrysler 200 from the rear 3/4. All these tricks from Ferrari and Mercedes are an attempt to make it seem more special. "The giant piece of glass may be as light as a feather for all we know" is an attempt to ignore the fact that this much glass is heavy and will heat up the cabin. Waste of time.

Agreed about the extra heat due to the giant glass. I do hope that Tessla makes it an option as I will opt out and choose the regular roof. However, the giant glass roof offers a feel of open space in an enclosed car. I tried it on the X, and did not like the sun directly over the head but it definitely feels more spacious than a panorama roof. The feature may not fit everyone's taste but I know some people like it a lot.

As for other design elements of the cars, as mentioned, some are controversial. However, the Cd of 0.21 deserves merit. It takes real art and science to get Cd down to this level without making it look like a bean. Can you count how many cars (other than prototypes) in existence with Cd 0.24 or less ?
