SPIED on the STREET! This Toyota FJ Goes Where No Other FJ Has Gone Before, Is It A STUD or DUD?

SPIED on the STREET! This Toyota FJ Goes Where No Other FJ Has Gone Before, Is It A STUD or DUD?
Now we’ve seen some pretty weird stuff before but this is definitely up there. Not because it’s so extravagant or ridiculous, mostly due to the fact that there’s a lot of work involved.

That’s because someone took a Toyota FJ and chopped the top off. While it may seem as easy as grabbing a saw and cutting some pillars, there’s a lot more to it than just that.

When creating a convertible, engineers tirelessly work to create a driving experience that’s as close as possible to a hard top variant. Remember, when you cut off the roof, that eliminates one of the most critical pieces of an automobile — structural rigidity.

Spotted by Agent 001 in Boston where he was in town for a friendly dinner, he couldn’t let this opportunity pass by. While the Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet was a punchline for many jokes, we think that this FJ isn’t all that bad. A bit in your face but that’s not necessarily a bad thing.

What say you, Spies? Is it a STUD or DUD?

A FJ vert makes sense, in the light of a Wrangler or Defender. If I am off roading in the outdoors, you want to get that full view and experience. My only issue is the color combo of white with a red top. Not loving that.

Thankfully it's no longer sold in the USA.

I believe the correct title here should have been "Toyota contemplating this Pontiac Aztek killer: Should GM be scared???????????"
