Chevrolet Bolt To Answer Range Anxiety With An EPA-Certified 238 Mile Range
The Chevrolet Bolt can go from the U.S. Capitol to the Empire State Building on one battery charge.

General Motors today said the EPA-certified range of the Bolt, which is scheduled to arrive at some dealerships by the end of this year, is 238 miles.

That would make it the first electric vehicle to be sold in the U.S. with a range of more than 200 miles and a starting price of less than $40,000.

Has the potential to be a big hit with Eco buyers who can't step up to a Tesla yet need decent range! Look forward to the reviews - Good for GM.

That's noteworthy! Although they are not the same as Tesla, they do so for a tiny fraction of the price, and that's noteworthy!

This is great. GM has always had the technology, it was a matter of the will in making the technology work. Still remember the 90s when Japanese dominated the market, the Europeans were clawing back market shares, and the US car mfrs were in the midst of chaos and unknown. Daimler was asked who they feared the most in the 21st century, they didn't say Toyota or Honda but said GM because of their R&D prowess.

Indeed - for years - Gm made the best car parts. Among them - their alternators, air conditioner compressors, and their Automatic Transmissions were clearly the leaders - and were bought by Mercedes, Bmw, and even Rolls Royce. If Gm wants the best - they can do it better.

It is when bean counters get too far into the mix that ALL car manufacturers suffer.

If GM would give me a Bolt to spend several months in, I wouldn't say no.
