Autonomous Design Firm Breaks Ties With Tesla For Pushing The Safety Envelope

Mobileye broke ties with Tesla Motors Inc. because the Silicon Valley firm was "pushing the envelope in terms of safety" with the design of its Autopilot driver-assistance system, Mobileye's chairman said on Wednesday.

"It is not designed to cover all possible crash situations in a safe manner," Amnon Shashua, who is also chief technology officer at the Israel-based maker of collision detection and driver assistance systems, told Reuters.

And I'm sure someone at the autonomous design firm gave Tesla a full disclaimer warning them the technology was not yet ready to be launched in its entirety and should be launched in phases instead, similar to Benz's drivers assistance, but Elon Musk, being the over the top individual he says went forth regardless to make up for lack of product supply and delayed launches for investors...Bad Move
