2018 Mercedes Benz G class caught out
Next gen design but same old boxy look and feel is what is going to describe best the new Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The most popular tough SUV loved by so many people, with troops of G -Class enthusiasts is going in 2018 with its chin held up high.

Next gen for most vehicles means a brand new design language and features, but German automaker decided that team that’s playing well don’t need to be changed. G-Class is going forward with the trends, but it’s keeping its striking features that made it what it is, and what haven’t changed that much since 1979.

Same 2 box design for the last 35 years and still finding suckers to buy em and bling em up. Fools and their money are soon parted...

So...we need Autospies staff to provide some value-added analysis for us readers/users!

Is this a completely new platform? OR is it a warmed-over body on frame update of the old 1998-2006 ML320 body on frame platform with a boxy body on it? (Ala...MB making a 2007 Maybach out of the 1994 to 2000 S500 platform?).

Autospies (and Darringer) please do some research and give us a scholarly update!

Thnx

..by the way, the 1998 to 2006 ML320 platform was a fine off-road vehicle (aside from the problematic approach and departure angles created by the suburbanite-friendly body; easily fixed in a redesign)...so rehash better than the 30-year old POS MB has been selling rich drug dealers/middle easterners!

I couldn't care less what is under the new G Class as long as it continues to sell for a stupid profit.
