Spies Catch Upcoming BMW 8-Series Prototype Lurking In The Shadows

BMW is working on a flagship coupe to revive the 8-Series name and today we have our first spy shots of a prototype.

BMW hinted at the model in March when senior executives said the automaker was looking at adding more high-end models. One of these will be the 8-Series. Another will be an i8 Spyder

Finally a cheaper alternative to the S class coupe, but if we judge the roof line, the rear seat will be even smaller than the one on S coupe, I think, this car should be an Sportier alternative to the the S class Coupe, it won't his presence but a least will other alternative.

Unfortunately, MB just announced it will be ending the production of the S Class coupe due to cannibalization w/ other, more profitable models like the CLS.

So this will be it. Not an alternative. And BMW may take the opportunity to raise it's target price.

The roofline is so much better than the 6 Series. This has stance and a presence.

Not really convinced yet. What's the 8-er going to be? A 2-door 7-er.

I'll wait for the 860i gran coupe x-drive version then....
