Under Fire: Japan Claims Mitsubishi Is STILL Manipulating Mileage Data

 Mitsubishi Motors Corp.  continued to improperly test the fuel economy of its vehicles after it admitted to manipulating data to inflate mileage results, Japan’s transport ministry said Thursday.

The announcement is a setback for Mitsubishi Motors as it seeks to recover lost credibility with regulators and customers. It admitted in April to manipulating test data on four minicar models—two of which were manufactured for  Nissan Motor Co.

There was a time when Mitsubishi made some really compelling cars - even competition for the Honda Accord at one time too (WHen it was great) - It is truly a shame to see how the company has literally destroyed itself through bad management. Remember that the early Hyundai cars were actually based on Mitsubishi cars - including using many Mitsubishi parts.
