This is the Audi Nuvolari Concept, of which the Audi A5 will be based off of. This is not the A5.

In fact, logical, you can't get a FWD A8 with a V8 engine, which the 750Li would be compared to.

And I'm sorry to break it to you, but almost everyone in the world knows that the A8 is just a better car than the current 7 Series. There's almost no gap in driving dynamics, the interior is breathtaking, and where the 7 is contreversial, the A8 appeals to just about everyone.

And to say that the Nuvolari concept car is ugly is quite contradictary to what everyone else thinks. It was accepted with rave reviews, with people wanting it to come into production immediately.

I'm really curious... if it had a BMW badge, would you still think it was ugly?

Will someone but a post up for BMW so logical will go away? I guess there is nothing to say good about BMW so you have to be here trying to Rip Audi.

How many years until BMW gets bought by GM or Toyota? what is the over/ under?

The Audi A8 is sold as an AWD car for 85% of its sales (not FWD). Its S8 variant has rear-biased AWD, and universally regarded as dynamically superior to any 7 series variant.

Also, the A8 has won far more acclaim the the horribly reviewed and slow-selling BMW 7 Series. The most significant award that the 7 Series has received is a "Golden Turkey" for bad auto design.

The 7 series does have some strong merits (great handling being its stongest), but the a8, which is a lighter and better executed design, is generally regarded as the superior automobile.

Of course the Audi A8 sucks. It has only defeated the BMW 7-series in more comparison tests than the 7-series has defeated it.

Until I-drive dies a well deserved death, the 7 series is un-buyable. The Audi MMI is not much better. They better get their sheit together fast as people tire of complicated, distracting technology intruding into the most mundane functions of car operation.

Logical, like I said before, you are obviously not up-to-date with the latest car magazines because otherwise you would see the 7-series pales in comparison to the A8.

It will be a great car, both design and with performance with the new platform and some powerful engines.

Can you explain why you Audi A3 drivers give Audi so much propaganda and hype? Why not Cadillac or Jaguar?

I wonder how much this audi A5 will cost? It looks like a cut and paste job made up VW, seat, and skoda parts.

For those who don't know this is not the A5. It's the car the new grille was derived from. It's also the car the A5 was based on but not the actual car. It will look much more finished when we see it.

why is it that so many people hate this car? I think its cool. Well, honestly, at first sight I didnt think it was all that great either, but if you stare at it long enough, you'll start to like it. I did.

A 300hp 3.1L V6 FSI with Valvelift will debut a couple of months after the V8 top range model.

BTW, Audi's 350hp 4.2L V8 is one of the world's most fuel efficient V8's according to Ward's.

its own personality.

Actually this image of the Nuvolari concept is not an accurate representation of the A5.

Unlike the Q7, R8, and new TT, the A5 will not be a nearly-identical version of its concept version.

The A5 will get Audi's new compound curve shoulder line, upswept side-rear window shape, and more angled down headlight. It will actually look quite a bit less like the new TT that the Nuvolari.

However, the A5 is intended to be a big brother to the TT, and the new R8 an ever bigger brother to the A5. Hence a deliberate family resemblance.

Yeah, despite the R8 and TT getting tons of attention these days, it's the A5 that really is the next significant step for Audi.

It's the first car to use Audi's new modular platform. This will include features like engine placement behind the front axel (instead of in front), DSG incorporated into a longitudinal engine layout, and a more even front/rear weight distribution.

It will also get rear-biased quattro and a newly developed MMI amungst many other technilogical innovations.

The new Audi architecture will also support 2009's A4 redesign and the forthcoming A8 and A6 updates. All these cars will benefit from the platform's more dynamic and well balanced foundation.

It won't be long before all this innovation will pay off by Audi becoming the world's #1 premium brand.
