Tesla Autopilot New Update Will Lock Out Inattentive Drivers

And it'll be fool-proof, so nothing will ever go wrong again with AutoPilot.

(That's biting sarcasm, in case it's not abundantly clear to you.)

Tesla is obviously in damage control mode.

There really isn't much damage to control. One person died that wasn't following directions--thousands die from car accidents every day. With the updates, the system could go from being 2-4 times safer than a human driver to ~8x safer, all without new hardware. Will it ever be perfect? Probably not.

Yeah...no damage to control at all. Those horrific deaths because of Autopilot are nothing to be concerned about. Tesla recklessly putting out technology that is not ready to do beta testing on its customers is nothing to worry about.

Thankfully no consumers have ever been put at risk in GM or Ford products.
