VIDEO: TEASED! BMW OFFICIALLY Announces The Debut Date For The All-New 5-Series...
The BMW 5-Series is one of the Bavarian brand's most important nameplates. It sells in volume, it always features all-new technology and it's a staple luxury automobile.

One of my favorite little facts is how the E39 5-Series was voted the best car, ever, at one point. Any next-gen 5-Series has big shoes to fill but this time the pressure is on.

BMW is on assault from all angles. Whether its pure luxury, high-performance capability or technology, BMW's rivals are armed to the teeth. Much like the all-new 7-Series, BMW has to come out swinging and bring its "A" game.

Can BMW do it?

We'll see, on October 13.

Stay tuned!

All will become clear. Experience Remote 3D View in the new BMW 5 Series.

The 5 series is my most favorite BMW - except the non-M E60. I would be very interested to check it out.

Currently driving a 2014 535i, not going to update regardless but it's interesting to see how it looks.

Seems like an awful lot of money spent by the Mktg dept on what amounts to be nothing more than an announcement "... coming soon...". A press release would cost a lot less and while being equally revealing. These videos, and not just this one by BMW, is useless as far as I'm concerned.

Likely BMW spent a ton of cash on promotional content related to the 5'er and this edited cut may have cost approximately $5,000 to do.

Considering a press release requires time from staff resources and money to distribute via the wires, no, it's not necessarily more cost effective...

The new 5-Series will be a major factor in determining if BMW can start achieving U.S. sales growth. If the new 5-Series looks like the current version and just offers slightly improved technology, which appears to be the case, then BMW will be in major trouble.

BMW will already lose the U.S. sales title along with the global sales title in 2016. If it screws up the new 5-Series, just like it did with the new 7-Series, BMW will likely be surpassed by Audi globally within the next few years.

BMW needs to get back to its roots of being the best handling cars in their classes. They also need to liven up their exterior design a bit and bring their interiors up to the standards of mb and Audi. Right now they are in a dangerous position where they are maintaining market share with aggressive discounting and heavily subverted leasing programs.

You know BMW has major sales problems when its leasing 320i's for $299 per month and sales of the 3-Series still fall by almost 20% for the month and 25% YTD.
