OFFICIAL: FIRST Pics Of The All-New BMW 5-Series' Interior DETAILS — Are You IMPRESSED or DEPRESSED?
As I've been pointing out in recent reviews, interiors are a big deal to me. If you fail here, it's just not going to be deemed acceptable anymore.

People use to let this float on by if vehicles had a significantly different driving experience, but the reality is these days that autos don't exactly provide that. With electric steering and adjustable everything, luxury autos can be tailored to what you want.

These days, most of the reason why we choose our cars or trucks is pure subjectivity.

That means there's a greater emphasis on execution. Cars need to look good on the outside and have an excellent interior look and feel. Bonus points to those who deliver an great user experience.

So, how does the all-new BMW 5-Series do? Well, that's for YOU to decide. Take a peek at the 5'ers all-new interior details via the pics below.

Not a whole lot to look at. Where are the official pictures of the center dashboard ? I suppose the ones posted yesterday could be used as "official"? If that's the case, I now join the rest of the gang to give it a thumb down.

I find the car looks great, but to be honest I don't like the fact that the front is so similar to the 7. The back looks great and if you look at it from the side it looks much more sportier with the new trunk going slightly down. As for the interior it's very similar to the 7. Only new materials and surfaces. For something "new" we will have to wait for the new 6 and X5/X6...

Nothing special. It's not an ugly interior, but it is as generic as generic can be. It's yawn inducing.

I like it. I agree it's not super new or exciting, but it's high quality and well-executed. I think it nicely blends traditional luxury standards (leather, wood, tailored upholstery) with contemporary touches (contoured shapes, metallics, light & space). It will stand the test of time.

I like the car in and out but I would like something more revolutionary and evolutionary, I think is time to do that.

This interior would be a deal breaker for me. That center stack looks down market and wouldn't be acceptable in a 3 Series update, which actually makes me concerned for what the new 3 series interior will look like.

Agreed. If this is the 5-Series interior, what will BMW think of for the 3-Series? It surely won't be more luxurious than what is seen here for the 5-Series.

The 3-Series has already been widely criticized for its cheap looking and feeling interior compared to the Mercedes-Benz C-Class and Audi A4.

I suspect a major reason why BMW's 3-Series is seeing its sales fall off a cliff is because of its cheap interior. Now BMW is planning to make it even cheaper?

BMW's strategic mistakes keep piling up one after the other.

Let's see, first, BMW went from the Ultimate Driving Machine to, well, driving machines.

And now, it goes from polarizing designs to, let's see, designs.

They're run by lawyers. Let's eliminate anything spicy and imaginative and go after Toyota customers... No offense to anyone who owns a Toyota here.
