Audi To Skip Normal Naming Convention For e-tron SUV

What’s in a word? quattro, for example, means four in Italian. But for the peeps at Audi, quattro also refers to Audi's go-faster arm. As if that wasn’t enough, Audi also uses quattro to denote its all-wheel-drive system. And yes, it all started with the rally-bred Quattro all-wheel-drive 2-door coupe from the 1980s.

e-tron, on the other hand, has been used by Audi since 2009 for an R8-inspired mid-ship electric sports car concept. Following that moment in time, the e-tron suffix has been applied to numerous concept vehicles, as well as production-ready plug-in hybrids and Le Mans racers. Don’t know about you, but Audi isn’t as cohesive with e-tron as it is with its applications for Quattro.

Handsome vehicle from the sides and back. Front grille is becoming more and more Lexus-ugly with each iteration.
