When Tesla alleged that they obtained over 300,000 orders shortly after announcing the new Model 3, did anyone actually think that Tesla could ramp up from 50,000 vehicles a year to producing 300,000 more Model 3s within a year? Especially considering that the Model 3's design had not even finalized yet and Tesla had not begun tooling for it yet?

Well of course it's going to take "more than a year" to deliver all of the now-claimed 350,000+ Model 3 orders. A lot more! And that's assuming:
- Tesla starts shipping Model 3s in a "reasonable short" time
- The delivered Model 3s measure up to customer expectations
- The delivered Model 3s sell for the price stated when the deposit was made, or less
- Tesla is still perceived as a viable and arguably healthy company when Model 3s start shipping

Remove any one (1) of these assumptions and Model 3 orders could quickly start vaporizing.

"380k orders"

Also, the announcement today is related to the Model 3. My guess is a HUD system called Tesla Glass.

I was wrong, Level 5 autonomous driving hardware was the announcement. That's much better, too bad the cost of the hardware went from $3k to $8k.
