2019 Audi RS 5 – News and Updates
The 2019 Audi RS 5 prototype was caught on camera right after the company had presented new S5 and A5 models.

Although the car in the photos and the video (which you can see below) may trick you into thinking that it is an S5 tester, you need to look closer. What gives it away is the wider track and fenders which are a bit larger. The new vehicle will be equipped with bigger intakes located on both front and rear end. This indicates that the exhaust tips will be round.

It will be interesting to see how long the A4 and A5 are produced in their current forms given VWAG's decision to move most of Audi's line to the MQB platform.

My advice would be that if you like the new A5 and can afford to buy an RS5 get one while the getting's good when they come out.

You need to do YOUR research. Because Dieselgate is costing VW more than they thought it would, future Audi products will be split between the modular VW platform and that of the Porsche Panamera. This means that the A4/5 will go to a transverse layout that is FWD/AWD oriented and A6 up will be RWD/AWD oriented.

@BobM

a link: http://www.carscoops.com/2016/10/audi-to-stop-producing-its-own.html

a quote: "As Audi looks to slash costs in the wake of Volkswagen's dieselgate scandal, it has been revealed that the German marque won't design and engineer its own platforms anymore...This would mean that Audi's mainstream A4 and A5 ranges could switch from a longitudinal engine layout to a transverse setup based on the VW Passat's MQB architecture, while the brand's larger A6 and A7 would move to the MSB platform offering rear-wheel drive (alongside all-wheel drive variants) for the very first time."

Thus, if you want a longitudinal, quattro RS5, the time to buy will be the moment it comes out.

So to recap, even without Dieselgate, VWOA would have stripped Audi of being able to design and engineer its own cars? You clearly are from Colorado.
