TEASED! Mercedes-Benz Whets Our Appetite With This Clip Of Its All-New #MBPickUp
Although on the surface it may seem peculiar that German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz would produce a pick-up truck, it actually isn't. Just think about a couple things.

First off, Mercedes has produced trucks for years. This isn't something new to the marque. In addition, it does have a strategic partnership with Nissan who also makes plenty of heavy-duty trucks.

Second, remember how sales of the aluminum Ford F-150 performed? Sure, it's an annual sales killer; however, what happened this time around was unique. The luxury variants, like the King Ranch, were in super high demand that Ford didn't exactly see coming.

Luxury pick up trucks are in, folks.

That said, the three-pointed star is readying its concept for an October 25 debut in Sweden. Why, Sweden? I don't know. I am still asking myself that.

Check out the company's YouTube clip of its all-new pick up, below. Rumor has it Mercedes will name it the GLT but don't quote us on that.

The rise of a new star: On Tuesday, October 25, 2016, Mercedes-Benz will present a new car class in Stockholm: the Mercedes-Benz Pickup “The Concept”. Be in for a surprise! Read all about The Pickup via: http://mb4.me/MBPickup

I'm sorry, but I cannot get past the reality that they reskinned a Nissan Navara as their pickup. It would make sense if this were another "hair shirt" addition to the Sprinter line i.e. a crude truck to do crude work, but not as a premium Mercedes.

They make a whole line of utilitarian trucks, so I don't see why they can't logically participate and do well in this segment.

As Darringer says though, it would be disappointing to see them come out with just a rebadged Nissan.

Instead of fixing their fucked-up design mistakes they're adding up a truck. Is there any other stupid suit they can learn from those who have sold their dumb cars with glorified names to consumers who were too Americanized in their consumer habits to see the reality?

Could you give some detail on Mercedes' design mistakes? Most people would see Mercedes design as being spot on rather than mistakes.
