Remaining Dodge Viper production reserved by single dealer
Next year marks the end of an era — the new Dodge Viper will officially end production after five years on the market. Unfortunately it wasn’t the sales magnet Dodge had hoped it would be when the car was introduced in 2012. But at least one dealer thinks that this V10-powered supercar will still have plenty of value on the marketplace.

Gerry Wood Dodge of Salisbury, North Carolina, says on its website that it has just snatched up anywhere between 135 to 140 new Vipers, depending on which part of the website you’re reading. That order makes up about “99 percent of remaining production,” says the dealership.

Interesting. I wonder how Gerry Wood Dodge is going to finance their purchase of $13MM in Vipers until they can unload them?

Darringer - what is the longest floor-plan loan a dealer can get? What's the typical interest rate now - 5%?

Gerry Wood is going to have a tough time making those numbers work!

There simply is no way one dealer can move that many Vipers.

We try to keep it to 90 days, but that can be renewed indefinitely. The question is whether a dealer wants to.

Manufacturers can also "park" vehicles for "storage" and if the dealer happens to sell the car it passes through. Those "parked" vehicles are often counted as sales by the manufacturer.
