2017 Audi Q7 now available with 2.0-liter TFSI turbo-charged four-cylinder engine
Audi of America today announced the new 2.0-liter TFSI® four-cylinder engine will now be offered on 2017 Audi Q7 models. This new model, when equipped with the 2.0-liter engine, is faster, lighter and more efficient than the previous generation Q7 3.0T V6.

With 252 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque, the Q7 with 2.0T engine reaches 60 mph a half-second faster than the previous generation 2015 Q7 3.0T V6 model. The Q7, with standard seating for up to seven passengers and quattro® all-wheel drive, is 22 percent more fuel efficient, with an EPA-estimated 22 mpg city/highway combined. And while it is nearly 500 pounds lighter than the previous model, the Q7 2.0T has 4,400 pounds of towing capacity, with the optional towing package.

Smart move on Audi's part - especially now that Diesels are gone.

When will MB bring out the GLE300 with the 241HP/273lb-ft 2.0L turbo 4? Surely it will be out soon?

Given how excellent BMW's turbo 4 cyl is, I'm surprised that engine hasn't proliferated in the X5 yet either. BMW's 2.0 mill is the best of the bunch, I think!

I don't know. I drove the diesel X3 when it first came out, and overall I wasn't impressed with it. Perhaps something was "off", but it wasn't as smooth as my Passat TDI. However, if VW or Audi does't return with either a diesel Q3/Q5/Tiguan sized CUV, or a respectable hybrid system (I thought the Jetta Hybrid was quite good. Just couldn't stand the radio), I'll be looking at MB or BMW for my next car.

I can't get over the what the Lexus models look, Mazda doesn't have either diesel or hybrid, the RAV4 is a maybe, don't care for the CR-V or the Rouge. But I'm giving them all a couple of years to get something moving.

Article: "...the new 2.0-liter TFSI four-cylinder engine that makes it not only faster but also lighter and more efficient than the 3.0T-powered Q7 of the previous generation..."

Impressive. And it brings the price down (compared to bigger engines in the new Q7).

And you'll be revving the living crap out of the engine. I'd rather have a naturally aspirated V6 than a high strung turbo in a vehicle that is not high strung.

Exactly and more expensive shit to break, maintain, replace etc.. Manufacturers are rushing out minimills because on paper they "look" more environmentally friendly and efficient but in reality they are not. They are just cheaper to produce with less parts, less pistons, less raw materials and gooder margins. PERIOD. Less is more (profit that is).

This is an extremely smart move by Audi. Audi understands there are a large amount of buyers out there who could care less about the engine under the hood. All those buyers want is a prestigious badge on the hood and a premium model, which the Q7 would classify as.

The new Q7 2.0T gives buyers the Q7 high-end SUV model at a far more reasonable price than they could have ever gotten before and it even has much better performance and efficiency than the previous generation model.

Audi's Q7 has already seen huge monthly sales jumps over the previous year period. This new model will only increase Audi's sales gains for the Q7.
