#LAAUTOSHOW: Confirmed, All New Mazda CX-5 To Debut At Los Angeles Motor Show

Only one image previewing the car’s exterior has been released, but visible design features, such as the pinched headlight and a lengthy bonnet suggest the CX-5’s look will take influence from Mazda’s larger CX-9 SUV.

The outgoing CX-5’s 2.0 petrol and 2.2-litre diesel engines are likely to be retained, with small gains in performance and reductions in CO2 output.

Mazda's sales do not accurately reflect how good their products are. By regular changing the styling in a major way, they can build interest in the brand. I would be surprised if the platform is literally "all new" because Mazda's platforms are pretty good to begin with. If anything this is a new "hat" on proven mechanicals.
