2018 Dodge Grand Caravan - Staying the Same or Getting a Replacement?
The Grand Caravan has been one of the better selling minivans in North America for more than two decades. However, the model reached the end of its life in the US while in Canada it will only be sold until the mid of 2017. Officially the car has been replaced by the Chrysler Pacifica. Despite that, it seems that it is not entirely dead. There are some strong rumors out there which suggest that a new one will be showcased with the 2018 Dodge Grand Caravan. At this point, there is very little information about this new model but it seems it might be a bit more different than what we currently know. For starters, it will not be the usual minivan.

The Pacifica has been a complete sales DUD. Conjuring a more sanely priced Caravan version cannot happen quickly enough.

I am so confused by the source article.

The next Dodge (Grand) Caravan will be a sporty CUV? Will this replace the Journey b/c that's what the Journey is now.

It's all wild speculation of course. By now we were supposed to have an RWD Dart and a Barracuda off the amazing (rolled eyes) Giorgio platform. Then the next Journey was supposed to be a Stelvio knock off.

Arguably, the Pacifica should have been cast as a 7 seat crossover with the Caravan getting a restyling. Minivans are a big market, but they are also a soft market and dumping a lot of money on a new minivan simply wasn't wise.

Matt - I agree that a new mini-van is not in the cards - but FCA has existed so far on using what it has - and the Pacifica is better than the Grand Caravan - a little nose job - lightly change the rear - and maybe a different steering wheel -slightly de-content - and we have a new Grand Caravan - without much investment.
