STUD OR DUD? Facelifted 2017 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Caught In The Wild
The Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be facelifted in 2017, and sightings of development cars show what the model and the hot AMG S 63 variant will look like.

The sixth generation model of Mercedes-Benz's flagship saloon went on sale in 2013, but is facing increasing competition from the likes of the BMW 7 Series, Audi A8 and Jaguar XJ.

Exterior changes for the updated S-Class in 2017 will be minor. Spy shots show some light camouflaging around the new front and rear bumpers, and slight adjustments to the tail-light design. Earlier prototypes have also shown new LED headlight cluster designs.

Regal looking! I'd say "winner."

The element on the S550 that needs improvement most is the available non-AMG alloy wheels.

The US market "base" wheels look dumpy, the upgraded larger rims look like blatant but poor knockoffs of BMW's "M" wheels, even the "vaned" wheels look nice but dated and out of sync with the rest of the modern car.

Its not a matter of rim diameter - its the vaning pattern of the wheels that is just incongruent with the design of the vehicle.

(AMG wheels look fine however).

The S-Class was a stud when it came out in 2013 and, since very little has changed for 2017, it's a stud now.
