Why? GM Rewarded For Beating Expectations With A 5 Point Drop In Stock Trading
Your spouse is wealthy as hell, but nutty as a loon and virtually incomprehensible.
So do you leave?

Frankly, that ought to be the question auto executives ask this week when it comes to the stock market -- because man, this makes no damn sense.

How else do you explain this market? You have another descriptor? I’m all ears.

The stock market is all about tomorrow not yesterday. Expectations for GM must be looking bleak amongst auto industry analysts.

The products that they are putting forward are competent but not noteworthy. The Lacrosse is new but doesn't really look it. The Equinox is new but has so-what styling. Cadillac is a massive burden to shore up and Buick isn't exactly well defined. The CT6 failing to attract the imagination of premium buyers is a problem because it's brand new, but not selling like a new car. GM is OK but it is not in the game to lead.

Matt - I believe that GM is clearly producing cars for the market they actually SELL in - and Buick is the second largest selling BRAND of cars in China - Even though I have one - I still believe the CT6 would be better targeted against the 5/E/6 cars from Germany. However - what is clear is that the American market does not want more German car knockoffs that cost as much as the real thing - but without the actual "cache'" of owning them. Until DeNYsschen is killed off - and Mary Bara comes to the realization that American Luxury car buyers want big American Luxury cars - ostentatious - sumptuous - and quieter than a Rolls too. However - GM has just come off replacing most if its car lines - at a time when they would have been better served by more new Crossovers. When Cadillac comes out with a Crossover ABOVE the XT5 - it will finally be competing in the hottest point of that market - but it will struggle until then

The LeCrap is aimed at the Lexus ES and the Lexus ES is much better for very similar money.

Cadillac cars are excellent but that is BESIDE THE POINT because they simply do not sell, thus opportunities missed.
