Intellichoice.com and AutoPacific Announce Motorist's Choice Awards Winners

IntelliChoice.com and AutoPacific created the Motorist's Choice Awards to determine the vehicles that delivered both the highest satisfaction and lowest cost of ownership. The collaboration between the two respected firms, who have each been authorities on the U.S. auto market for the last 20 years, takes selected owner satisfaction data from AutoPacific's surveys of new car and light truck buyers and combines it with IntelliChoice.com's rating methodology to create a new measurement that speaks to both the hearts and minds of car buyers.

"While the economic analysis of car ownership remains very important - it can save or cost you thousands of dollars over the life of the vehicle - it is also important to recognize owner satisfaction as another significant influencer in vehicle purchases," said James Bell, publisher of IntelliChoice.com. "With these awards, we have identified the vehicles that delight emotionally and economically - key points to consider when buying a vehicle."

Cars/Wagons: Lexus LS430
SUVs/Crossovers: Infiniti QX56
Minivans: Honda Odyssey
Pickup Trucks: Chevrolet Avalanche 1500 (2WD)

i don't get it, the QX was ranked as one of the most unreliable vehicles out there... so how does it make it onto this list? wouldn't the cost of fixing it be taken into consideration?

16 categories and only in 3 of them there are americans and of course most of they are in the last one "Fullsize Pickup Trucks" - the most american one!?!

Japanese companies making Ford, GM and Chrysler (who has noone vechicle in this competition)to look so funny and tragical!!!

Strange, didn't JD Powers rate the Infiniti QX56 as the least reliable SUV on the market a while back? And here we see it rated highly.

im sorry but the avalon and es330 should not have made it on here. its just that toyota people are different people. they buy a car soley on the fact that they think it will run forever, and most do when they are taken care of. they forgo any type of style and become very monotonus and bland. i think they only placed because toylex people are so quick to back up their brands and defend their cars and actually give a shit about surveys, that normal people just toss away. after all everything except price was done by a survey. could you really imagine someone like Will or 1970toy actually saying one bad thing about that company they love so much. of course they will answer all smiley faces on the survey to somehow prove they are better than every1 else.

and the honda odyssey is overpriced. i dont think it should have beaten the T&C while taht is my opinion, its also a fact that they cost about 4k less.

um german people? i sell chrysleres, not MB, only chrysler.

i just think that toyota buyers are too busy patting themselves on the back after they make a purchase than actually thinking of how satisfied they are with their car. i think some people would drive a large shoe box if it had a little L on it and said it was good for the enviornment.

i think they should do these surveys not right after the purchase, but more like 33 months after they took delivery. then they will have that "new car fever" and really say what they think about their car.

well will on nation average after 33 months people would like to get out of their car because they are ready for something new. weather they buy a car or not is different.

i just think that anyone who spends more than 10k for a car is gonna defend it because they do not want to appear foolish for making a mistake.

if they drive the car for about 3 years they would be more truthfull about the cars faults they have found themselves and not just what they heard about the car.

That LS460 at the top is very fine... it gives me renewed interest in the car.

I just hope the first one I see isn't black.

But it's a possibility for the wife... she did promise that she would 100% not buy a Lexus, though, so we'll see...

And why did the Accord win both the "Compact" class and the "Midsize" class...?

Odd...

And I'm surprised my A3 didn't come up there! All the press loves it, because it really is the best small car on the road... as much character as a Mini without the fiddley electronics, and an even better engine.
