New Volkswagen Teramont Is China's Atlas SUV
Unveiled on the same day as the North American Atlas, the Volkswagen Teramont is the brand's local model for the Chinese market.

There are a few minor styling tweaks differentiating the two SUVs, but the most important detail is that the latter is made in the People's Republic by the Shanghai-Volkswagen joint venture, while the former is put together in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

This concept pic with all the "China only" exterior trim looks 1000x better than the physical Atlas concept that we saw last week. The "Teremount trim" looks more "acceptable" for the US market than that plain-boring Atlas exterior.

This is the reason VW can get their "act" together in the US. They make the wrong decisions on trim/engine/powertrain options or just don't offer them at all. Offer the Teremount trim & a V8 or equivalent turbo-V6 or just don't offer a large CUV at all.
