It could possibly compete with the VW EOS. They both look incredibly ugly with the top up. The Ford looks slightly better with the top up, IMO.

accually SENORGATO their reliablity is quite well. Consumer reports recomends it as one of the best small car, as to reliablity. So do some research before you comment. Just because it is American doesn't mean it has quality problems.

senorgato, the regular european focus is a very good car, and has no quality issues to speak of. i have had several as rental cars in spain and they are very good indeed.

for a Ford...its kind of impressive. Not for me too small, but for a single person or family without kids it looks like fun.

I can't believe this has a blue oval on the grill. Ford does need cars like this in the states.

My theory on why its not here:
This will be built at Pininfarina's Italian facility. Converting the starting price directly over to USD, it starts at $31,635. Kinda steep for a Ford with an econo-motor; and after covering import costs to sell it in the US, it will probably cost even more. With all that in mind, Ford is probably not certain the car will sell well.

I bet we will see design cues and technologies from this car in future models though.

This looks like an Audi A4. Make the grille straight, straighten the side profile and you are there (insert audi badge). The Ford 500 looks like a Lexus LS with an A6 profile.

It looks good though.

Is it just me, or do all Ford vehicles resemble the F-150 or Exursion. If they want to make it a car, make it look like a car, not a really small SUV.

It's cheaper than Eos and Opel Tigra Twin-top and german car-magazine annonced that Ford is better than both germans!

note that this car is the european focus, not the american one. the american one is just a very heavy facelift of the old one, the european one is all new from 2004. this will be a top seller, looks better than the 307cc and drives better, and is cheaper than an eos or astra twin top

senorgato, get off your high horse. america doesn't get the new focus, it gets the old one with a face lift. quality problems are nil on the new one. you don't know anyone whos owns this car as you don't get it in america.

Ouch. That hurt.

I don't think we need the Euro Focus-- I think the best bet would be for Ford to bring its Australian cars over here. Those are pretty sweet.
