Honda Issues Urgent Airbag Recall To Over 300,000 Owners - Only 13,000 Bother To Get Them Fixed
About 300,000 Honda Motor Co. cars equipped with faulty Takata Corp. airbags that have as high as a 50 percent chance of rupturing during an accident remain on U.S. roadways, according to the head of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.

NHTSA first issued an urgent warning for these Honda and Acura vehicles to be repaired in June. But only 13,000, or 4 percent, of owners have had the cars and trucks repaired in the last five months.

One of the first things i did upon buying my 16 year old's first car, was to check the service history with BMW and then the outstanding recalls.

Both were in the clear.

I can see 100's of lawsuits over the next few years from people that will claim they never knew there was a recall.

I can't understand how someone would not know about these recalls - they have been on the news for years now....

It's not that they don't know, but the recalls are announced and letters sent well BEFORE the parts arrive to the dealers, but no notification that the parts are at the dealers goes to the owner, thus people come in, hear the parts aren't in yet, and then lose sight on following up.
