#SEMA: AWESOME or AWFUL — Is The Jet-Themed Paint/Wrap/Whatever PLAYED OUT On Sports Cars?

First, came the matte paint. Second, came the wrap. Then, people started having fun with it. A lot of fun.

There were chrome-wrapped vehicles, colored chrome wraps, matte paint on Mercedes-Benz G-Wagons, and then "themed" vehicles. Frankly, I hate themed vehicles.

Some examples of what I've seen now and again at car shows, in celebrity driveways and on today's roads are military-inspired matte paint jobs and camouflage wraps.

One that's been immortalized thanks to R&B singer, Chris Brown, is the jet-themed auto. His was a Lamborghini Gallardo. Making a debut at the SEMA Show was a Chevrolet Corvette Z06 decked out in some serious threads.

There's something truly lame about doing one of these themed paint jobs. At least, in my humble opinion. To me, it trivializes the work and danger these men and women deal with on the battlefield.

It's awful. Everything at SEMA is awful. A bunch of super-expensive, super-tacky stuff to junk-up cars more than they already are. Just my opinion ...

That's 4 spot-on comments in a row. Love these tough guys all buffed up patrolling the city streets looking tough. Just wish they'd do that in the Army or something. Then they can drive the real thing, shoot real bullets at real terrorist buffaloes/camels. Oh sorry, didn't realize your ankle hurts which prevented you guys from joining the military.
