SPIED: BEST Spy Shots Of The 2018 Rolls-Royce Phantom YET — Is Roller Following BMW's Plan?
The production headlights of the Rolls-Royce flagship are visible through the disguised car pictured here and appear to be slimmer than those of the current car. A design similar to that of the headlights on the Rolls-Royce Ghost, with a step in the lower edge of the light making way for the indicator strip, appears to have been chosen.

A full-width grille with a design extending into the bumper is also revealed. Aside from these differences, a similar design to that of the previous car is suggested.

Why bother doing a new car that is indistinguishable from the one it will replace?

The current car has headlights that look like the LED surrounds of the high-end Jeep Grand Cherokee. Let's see who they will copy for this iteration ... Unacceptable for a car over $350K.

These things are huge. Pictures do not do them justice in terms of size and heft.

My guess is that Rolls Royce is so far behind in new technology that these early versions are for that testing - and the outside styling is not yet final. I would suspect that there will be an OBVIOUS exterior difference to signify the new generation. I does not have to be a lot - but it has to stand out somehow. Even if it is hard, people at this economic strata will not want to be left out with the old one - Matt - that is what "Rolls" brings to the table. They will sell every one they can make for several years. The real purpose of this generation is to bring out the lighter aluminum platform - which will form a basis for a new 4x4 - the Cullinan - which will also sell as fast as they can make them.

These are indeed very large vehicles - and as with any change in Rolls - will sell well simply because of the generation change - one simply cannot be caught being driven in an OLDER Rolls!. My Boss already has indicated he wants one - and his three year old one is available to me - but I am not sure I want to replace my S-600 - which I drive myself - with a car that should have a driver.

AS far as certain styling elements - one cannot compare that actual construction of any part of a Rolls - to a "Jeep" in reality. The Current Rolls is far older than most current Jeeps - but even if they look similar from a distance - the Rolls will be quality - not the FCA. AND - the 12 cylinder will remain - and there is still something about a 12 cylinder - smoothness that simply cannot be matched by anything else. No V-8 Mercedes can match the 12 cylinder in the S-600 for smoothness - even if they can make a more powerful one for the AMGs.
