With the Trumpsters now tooting their horn on the imminent demise of EVs, any achievements by Tesla from here on out will be their own. If recent developments in Germany, I'd say they are on track to great success and will weather the storms coming.

I know I am pouring oil to the fire, but here's one last comment:

If you want Scammer, look no further than your new "fearless leader" Trump. He is already under Putin's sleeve. Wait until he starts dancing whenever Putin tells him to.

Since you keep bringing up Government subsidies, I do hope come Jan 2017 Trump will abolish ALL energy subsidies - OIL, COAL, EV and all, and see who will squirm first. A simple question: who is financing the Keystone pipeline project ?

If federal tax incentives for EV go away today, who's going to scream the loudest ? Tesla or the other guys: GM, Ford, Toyota, BMW, MB, VAG, ... ? It will take Tesla a year or so to reach 200000 EVs quota whereas the other guys still struggle to move a handful. The rule of the EV game is the same for everyone, only the losers cry foul.

Tesla will undoubtedly face stiff competition from the luxury automakers in the not too distant future. But they continue to make big investments to secure their future success. The Model 3 and a CUV based on it will sell like hot cakes.
