Toyota Gives NAFTA Worries The Finger By Breaking Ground On Mexican Assembly Plant
Toyota has just celebrated the ground breaking of its second Mexican manufacturing plant, located in Apaseo el Grande and dubbed Toyota Motor Manufacturing de Guanajuato (TMMGT).
 
When completed, the plant will be the company’s 15th in North America and produce the Corolla from 2019 onwards. Toyota says the de Guanajuato factory, costing $1 billion to build and tool, will employ approximately 2,000 people and build 200,000 Corollas annually.
