Tesla Model Y update – might not come with falcon doors
The Tesla Model Y that is due anytime soon has been reported and written about so much. But recently an info popped up saying that the gullwing rear door featured in the Tesla Model X might get ditched here. The reason for that is the amount of bad reviews and dozens of criticisms on their account.

If you recall Elon Musk launched a tweet sometime in October 2015 stating that the Model Y and Model 3 will soon hit the streets and that they will be equipped with falcon doors. What is interesting is that the Model 3 is ready, although not yet presented as the commercial version, but doesn’t host the falcon doors, so Mr. Musk probably referred to the Model Y in his Tweet.

The article is pure speculation and doesn't present any facts one way or another. Musk made one reference to falcon wing doors on the Y, that's all we know--it could go either way. Most of the kinks have been ironed out and falcon doors an they would add both a coolness factor and easier access in tight spaces. However, these doors add extra cost to the car and the Model Y is targeted at the mass market. In the end its a wash and I'm indifferent on which doors are used.

....Right

Side note, Tesla just announced that in December they will do a software update that will bring the 0-60 of the P100D down to 2.4 seconds, free, for all existing and future P100D owners.

Model Y sounds like a Model X revamp more than anything else.

Musk tried to name the model 3 - model e, but there were some trademark issues. Too bad the X and Y (rendering) are anything but ...

Yup, that is why Musk said that Ford killed SEX (they own the Model E rights). The funny thing is that they 3 will look like an E anyways, they are using 3 horizontal lines for the 3.

Heard the Model S P100D now does 0-60 in 2.4 seconds (after software update).
